Great Marsh Kayak Tours provides kayaking adventures on Cape Cod in the towns of Eastham through the Nauset Marsh and Yarmouth down Parkers River.
Both our and tours operate through the summer season and are approximately 3 hours long. View our summer schedule and check out more details by selecting a location below!
Launch into Eastham's Nauset Marsh and paddle through the various tidal channels towards the outer beach and Atlantic Ocean. On this journey we will encounter various shorebirds, marine creatures and may encounter the resident seals!
Take an easy stroll down Parker's River in Yarmouth which mixes Cape Cod living with beautiful marsh lands. On our way out to Seagull Beach we will experience many different shorebirds and get up close and personal with our resident Osprey!
We will be exposed to the elements while we're out exploring Cape Cod's wonders for about 3 hours. It is important to come prepared with the necessary items to make your journey more enjoyable!
We'll be paddling some distance, so you'll want some water to stay hydrated and you may want to bring some snacks for when we take a break on the beach.
The sun can be very intense out on the water, so make sure you bring a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
You'll want to wear some clothing that is fine getting wet, like a bathing suit, a quick-drying shirt, and footwear that can get wet (flip-flops, watershoes, etc).
We provide everything you need to have fun and stay safe on the water. We have both single and tandem kayaks from which to choose. We suggest children enjoy the tour in a tandem with an adult. Please feel free to reach out and find the best tour time for you and the kiddos.
Before we head out from shore, we'll give some instructions and tips on how to properly use your kayak paddle to maneuver your boat properly.
Everyone in a vessel is required to wear a life jacket while on the water.
We also provide dry bags you can use to keep anything dry that you may want to bring along with you.
The tide flows in and rushes out through the marsh, exposing two totally different ecosystems; sand flats at low tide and deep marsh channels at high. We book our tours to follow the ever-changing high or low tidal flow. This provides the most enjoyable experience for our paddlers as we use Mother Nature's tidal flow to aid us in our paddling as much as possible while still getting a nice workout!
Low tide provides a nice leisure tour in both directions as we ride the tide out to our destination. While on the beach, the tide turns and we are able to follow it back to the launch. This tour is great for families with young kids, or just anyone who wants a leisure day on the water!
High tide tours are scheduled to go out about 1.5 hours before the tide turns. Although we are going against the tide in both directions, it is only slightly harder than a low tide tour, but offers us access to explore more of the hidden maze-like channels the marsh offers that normally are not accessible at a low tide.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions about which tide is most suitable for your group!
Please arrive to your specified tour location 30 minutes prior to your departure time to allow time to prepare for our adventure! See the tour details above for the exact meeting location for each tour.
Digital gift cards are available to share the adventure of the cape air with a special person.
